We are a community committed to the work of healing; individually, in our families, in our communities, and in our relationship with the land we belong to.
We do the deep inner work, and from that place, we build systems of care that sustain community wellbeing across generations.
Root & Reconnect Foundation designs and stewards culturally grounded healing spaces, programmes, and partnerships, at the intersection of wellbeing, community, culture, and systems change.
Our story
Our Story
Root & Reconnect is built by women who are doing the work themselves. Not in theory, not from the outside looking in, but through the ongoing practice of returning to our bodies, our histories, our families, and the land we come from. The journey is not finished for us, or for the communities we serve.
In walking this path, we came to understand something most mental health systems miss: what looks like individual struggle is almost never only individual. The burnout, the unnamed grief, the quiet fracture between who you present to the world and what you carry underneath. All these have roots.
Root & Reconnect is the infrastructure built to interrupt that cycle, with long-term investment in the relational systems that allow communities to care for themselves, generation after generation.
This work is personal. It is ancestral. It is collective.

Her work brings together culture, mental and emotional wellbeing, systems change, and partnership-building to cultivate the conditions for people, communities, and land to thrive. After leading World's East Africa launch, she experienced first-hand the human cost of building and leading under intense public scrutiny.Read more
